Events throughout the summer
Every summer there are plenty of events in Kangasala. Some have decades of tradition behind them.
Summer starts from Kangasala!
The Finnish summer in Kangasala traditionally starts on the last Saturday of May in Pirtinmäki. A well-known Finnish public figure will usually declare the summer open.
The automotive museums offer various events all through summer, such as exhibits and vehicle days. The Vehoniemi automotive museum, Vehoniemen Automuseo, is the traditional meeting place for motorists. Every Friday night plenty of motorbike enthusiasts gather at the spot to meet, greet, and race. The automobile and road museum Mobilia organises various themed events almost every weekend. The car museums are situated in beautiful locations, and there is also plenty to see around them. Both museums have a cafe.
The popular children’s event, Lasten Löytöretki, offers fun and adventures for a whole week from morning till evening, including puppet theatre, various activities, playful competitions and experiencing new things.
The Kangasala market square hosts various theme weeks with different performers throughout the summer. The market is a lively place of trade from Monday to Saturday.
