Kangasala is filled with culture

Kangasala pampers culture lovers. The county has four libraries as well as a mobile library. You can drop in at the library to read the daily papers or surf the Internet free of charge. The showroom of the main library exhibits works from local amateurs as well as artwork from the most prominent artists in the Pirkanmaa region and the whole of Finland.

The local craftspeople, Kangasalan Kädentaitajat, have their summer shop in Lepokoti on the shores of the lake Ukkijärvi. Craftwork made by artists and artisans is sold in the shop.

Kangasala hosts various interesting targets for art lovers. The Mobilia Gallery has exhibitions of photographs, art, craftwork, artefacts, and history all year around. Environmental art can also be seen in various places around the municipality.

The municipality offers versatile theatre entertainment. Two theatre groups perform at the Kangasala summer theatre, Kangasalan kesäteatteri, at Kisaranta. Puppet theatre Hupilainen operates in the historical Parvula house by the Huutijärvi lake. Revue and theatre shows are also organised at Hotel Urku.
